One lucky Arkansas lottery player’s consistency paid off in his biggest win yet.

Washington County resident Jerry C. won $90,000 in the July 1 Natural State Jackpot (NSJ) drawing. He claimed his prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on July 18.

The winning ticket was sold at Flash Market #7182, located at 1903 Fayetteville Road in Van Buren, and the winning numbers were 11, 14, 16, 20 and 21.

“I feel like I got hit by lightning!” Jerry told lottery officials. “I’ve never won anything like this in my life.”

A daily NSJ player, Jerry bought the winning Quick Pick ticket as part of his usual lottery routine. Rather than selecting his own numbers for every play, the Washington County man prefers to use the same set of computer-generated numbers for one week. Jerry changed nothing about his play style for the week of June 26-July 2, but this time, he landed the astonishing $90,000 jackpot. 

The player discovered his win a couple of days after the drawing, when he checked his numbers on his home computer.

“Am I looking at this right?” he thought in disbelief.

When the shock finally settled, Jerry made plans to privately donate a portion of his winnings and save the rest for his grandkids’ scholarship fund. The lucky winner told lottery officials that he is excited to do some good with his prize and is happy to support the lottery’s mission of raising proceeds for student scholarships.

“I like that I have a general idea of where the money’s going,” Jerry said. “It’s absolutely worth playing if even one student could benefit.”

The jackpot for tonight’s NSJ drawing is $200,000.
