Waldo Man Claims $100,000 Powerball Prize; Powerball Jackpot Jumps to $1 Billion

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.

Waldo resident Ardell F. won a $100,000 prize in the March 25 Powerball® drawing. He claimed his prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on April 1.

The winning ticket was sold at Tobacco Superstore #85 on 1100 E. Main St. in Magnolia. The winning numbers were 7, 11, 19, 53 and 68, with the Powerball number being 23. The multiplier was 2.

Ardell purchased the winning Quick Pick ticket as part of his daily lottery routine. He typically selects his own digits, but this time, he allowed the computer to pick. Lucky for Ardell, he matched four out of five winning numbers, plus the Powerball number, and won a $100,000 prize.

Though Ardell is happy with his prize, “money is money.” He now has set his sights on the $1.466 million jackpot for this Wednesday night’s LOTTO drawing. With his $100,000 prize, Ardell plans to invest in his grandkids’ college fund.

Tonight’s Powerball jackpot has jumped to an estimated $1 billion, with a cash value of $483.8 million. This jackpot is Powerball’s fifth largest to reach $1 billion and its highest of 2024. The previous $842.2 million jackpot was won on New Year’s Day.

To win the jackpot, a player must match all five white balls and the red Powerball. Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 9:59 p.m.
