Viola Man Wins $75,000 Prize Playing $3 Scratch-Off; Winning Powerball Ticket Worth $50,000 Sold in Bella Vista

little Rock, Ark.

Whether they play scratch-offs or draw games, Arkansas lottery players continue to land big lottery wins as the new year approaches.

R. Moore from Viola won $75,000 playing Loteria™, a $75,000 instant game. He claimed his prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on Dec. 22.

Moore purchased the winning ticket at 24 Hour Fuel #1011, located at 9916 Highway 62 W. in Viola, on a whim. He had initially stopped by the retailer to pick up something for his girlfriend when he spotted the Loteria scratch-off ticket. Having won a few small prizes on the game before, Moore decided he would give it another try.

At home, the lucky player scratched off his ticket and discovered it held a $75,000 top prize.

“No way,” Moore thought.

Stunned, he showed the winning ticket to his friend and girlfriend to confirm his win. In disbelief, the trio began to inspect the ticket to make sure it was real.

“We were getting magnifying glasses out,” Moore’s girlfriend laughed, while his friend added that they all took pictures for a closer zoom.

Elated, the lucky winner and his friends rushed to the ASL Claim Center the following morning to collect the $75,000 prize.

“I’m still in shock,” Moore told lottery officials. “I haven’t been to sleep yet.”

The Powerball® win streak in Arkansas continues with another winning ticket sold for last night’s drawing.

A winning Powerball ticket worth $50,000 was sold at Casey’s General Store #3264, 2 Riordan Road in Bella Vista for the Dec. 22 drawing. The winning numbers were 3, 18, 36, 41 and 54, and the Powerball number was 7. The Power Play® multiplier was 2.

The lucky winner matched four out of five winning numbers and the Powerball number to land the $50,000 prize. They are one of 107 players across the nation to win this prize in last night’s drawing.

The $50,000 win follows another winning Powerball ticket worth $150,000, recently sold in Pine Bluff for the Dec. 20 drawing.

This ticket is currently unclaimed. The winner has 180 days from the draw date to claim their prize.

The Powerball jackpot for tomorrow night is $1.7 billion.
