Smithville Woman Claims $250,000 in Lottery’s Natural State Jackpot with Ticket Ordered on Lotto.com

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.

Melody Carmical of Smithville claimed a $250,000 lottery prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center.

The Arkansan ordered the winning Natural State Jackpot (NSJ) ticket at Lotto.com for the Dec. 14 drawing. The winning numbers for that night’s drawing were 6, 16, 20, 25 and 29.

Carmical, who regularly plays the lottery, won the jackpot by matching all five numbers drawn with a special set of numbers “angel” numbers.

“I chose numbers representing faith and new beginnings,” the winning ticket holder told lottery officials. “I select these numbers every time I play the lottery.”

Carmical first told her husband about the win. The player plans to put the lottery prize toward bills and her retirement.

Retailers receive a 1 percent commission from the sales of winning lottery products. Player’s Café, the retailer associated with ticket orders placed on Lotto.com, will receive a $2,500 commission check for selling the winning ticket.

Lotto.com, which boasts over 1.4 million customers, is currently available in Arkansas, Colorado, Minnesota, Ohio, New Jersey, New York, and Texas, and offers digital access to order official state lottery tickets.

The NSJ, which is exclusive to Arkansas, draws at 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The jackpot for tonight’s drawing is $70,000. NSJ starts at $50,000 and increases by $5,000 every drawing until it hits $150,000. After that, it grows by $10,000 every drawing until it’s won. Each play is $1.
