Pulaski County Man Claims $50,000 Lottery Prize
A slight change in plans led one Pulaski County man to an unexpected lottery win.
Robert W. recently won $50,000 playing $50,000 Frenzy, a $20 instant game. He claimed his prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center on Oct. 1.
Robert purchased the winning ticket at Kum & Go #150, located at 3400 E. Kiehl Ave. in Sherwood during his lunch break. Originally intending to grab a meal from a local grocery store, he instead visited a gas station for a bag of chips, some gas and an instant ticket. Having just returned from a short break from playing, he decided to take a chance on a former favorite: $50,000 Frenzy.
“I thought my odds were better with this one,” he told lottery officials, comparing $50,000 Frenzy to other games.
Robert’s hunch was correct. He scratched off his ticket at work, and to his shock, it held a $50,000 top prize.
“Oh my gosh!” he thought. “That’s crazy.”
Robert visited the ASL website to check the number of top prizes left on the instant game. He learned that $50,000 Frenzy launched with 84 top prizes of $50,000 each, and now he was among the lucky winners.
Robert has yet to share the good news with anyone, but he does plan to tell his wife. He also intends to continue playing lottery games, telling ASL officials that he appreciates the lottery’s mission of raising money for Arkansas student scholarships.
Twenty-six top prizes remain on $50,000 Frenzy.
