Pulaski County Man Claims $100,000 Lottery Prize

Little Rock, Ark.

A brief detour led to one Arkansas player winning a big lottery prize.

Pulaski County resident Danny W. won $100,000 playing Jewel 7s, a $5 instant game. He claimed his prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center on May 12.

The winning ticket was sold at Jordan’s Kwik Stop #79, 2620 W. Main in Clarksville.

Danny purchased the winning ticket during a routine drive home. The weekly lottery player took a brief detour to a gas station, and while he was inside, the bold Jewel 7s ticket caught his eye.

“Hey, I think I’ll play that one—lucky number seven!” Danny thought.

The Arkansan waited until he was at home to scratch off his ticket. To his shock, the next-to-last play spot held one of the winning numbers required to land a $100,000 top prize.

“I kept thinking I didn’t do it right,” Danny told lottery officials. “I had to adjust my glasses.”

Still in disbelief, Danny visited a local lottery retailer to scan his ticket. Sure enough, the scanner indicated that he would need to visit the ASL Claim Center to collect his prize. The lucky winner notified the store clerk, who immediately responded with an astonished expression of his own.

“He just got wide-eyed,” he said.

So far, Danny has yet to tell anyone else about the win.

The Arkansan currently does not have plans for his prize, but he does intend to continue playing lottery games.

One top prize worth $100,000 remains on the Jewel 7s instant game.
