Powerball Jackpot Hits $960 Million for Saturday’s Drawing

Little Rock, ARK.

The Powerball® jackpot has grown to an estimated $960 million for Saturday night’s drawing. Game leaders increased the jackpot estimate this morning from $925 million to $960 million, citing strong ticket sales.

The prize ranks as Powerball’s second-largest jackpot this year and the fourth-largest jackpot in the game’s history.

The Powerball jackpot was previously won on July 19 for $1.08 billion. Since then, there have been 30 consecutive drawings without a grand prize winner.

Jackpot winners may choose to receive their prize as an annuity, paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years, or a lump sum payment estimated at $441.4 million. Both prize options are before taxes.

Powerball tickets are $2 per play and can be purchased at any lottery retailer or on the Jackpocket app. A player can also add Power Play®, which multiplies any non-jackpot prizes won with an additional $1. Both winning and non-winning tickets are eligible to enter in The Club for Points for Prizes®.
