Powerball Jackpot Exceeds Half-a-Billion Dollars

Little Rock, Ark.

The Powerball® jackpot continues to grow and now stands at an estimated $523 million for tomorrow night’s drawing – the 10th largest in Powerball game history.

“This is the highest the Powerball jackpot has been since January when a $731 million jackpot was won,” said Eric Hagler, executive director of the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery. “The last Powerball jackpot won was for $285.6 million on June 5 so there have been 37 drawings since then.”

If won on Saturday, this will be the first Powerball jackpot awarded since the game launched Monday drawings on Aug. 23.

Saturday’s drawing is scheduled for 9:59 p.m. The jackpot will continue to grow if no one claims the winning ticket.

Life-changing jackpots produce more than just lottery winners. Proceeds from draw game sales drive more money for scholarships.

Since 2009, the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery has raised more than $1 billion in scholarship proceeds and awarded more than 650,000 scholarships.

To purchase a ticket, visit your local lottery retailer and ask for a computer-generated Quick Pick or you can choose your own lucky numbers. Each play is $2. A player can get the Power Play®, which multiplies any non-jackpot prizes won, with an additional $1. For more information on game odds and how to play, visit
