Powerball and LOTTO Jackpots Soar for Wednesday Draws; From Working to Winning: Lottery Player Lands $50,000 Instant Prize

Little Rock, Ark.

Big wins could be just around the corner with Wednesday night’s Powerball® and LOTTO drawings.

Tonight, the Powerball jackpot is $485 million. Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Tickets cost $2 per play, and players can add the optional Power Play® multiplier for an additional $1, which can increase non-jackpot winnings by up to 10 times.

Also drawing tonight, the LOTTO jackpot is $2.741 million. LOTTO is an Arkansas-exclusive draw game with drawings held every Wednesday and Saturday at 9 p.m. Tickets cost $2 per play, and ticket sales cut off at 8:59 p.m.

One lucky lottery player, Billy Peterson of Webster County, Iowa, landed a big win playing the $50,000 Stacked instant game. He claimed his prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim on Oct. 1.

Billy, who works in Arkansas, was en route to his workplace when he stopped at Casey’s General Store #3346, 509 S. Rogers St., in Clarksville to buy a lottery ticket. A weekly player, Billy originally had another scratch-off game in mind but ultimately reached for $50,000 Stacked. Unbeknownst to him, that quick decision would lead to his first big lottery win.

Billy waited until he was at work to scratch off his ticket, only to discover he had won a $50,000 top prize.

“I was shaking when I realized,” Peterson told lottery officials. “I told everybody I knew—anybody and everybody. They were all surprised and happy for me.”

The lucky winner plans to invest his winnings for himself and his children.

Twenty-seven $50,000 top prizes remain on $50,000 Stacked.
