LOTTO Jackpot Soars to $2.285 Million; Mississippi County Woman Wins $100,000 Playing $5 Scratch-Off Game

little Rock, Ark.

Lottery luck is in the air as the LOTTO jackpot climbs ahead of the Aug. 19 drawing.

Tonight, the LOTTO jackpot is $2.285 million.

Launched in 2022, LOTTO is designed to give in-state lottery players more chances to win bigger prizes. Since its inception, LOTTO has awarded five jackpots, three of which surpassed the $1 million threshold. Recent jackpot winners include Yell County and Garland County residents who claimed their prizes in 2025.

LOTTO drawings are held at 9 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Six numbers between 1 and 40 are drawn, plus a Bonus Number. To win the jackpot, a LOTTO player must match the first six numbers drawn in any order.

When the jackpot is hit, it resets to $250,000 and increases with each subsequent drawing. If more than one jackpot-winning ticket is sold, the jackpot is split evenly among the winners.

LOTTO tickets cost $2 per play, and ticket sales cut off at 8:59 p.m. on the night of the drawing.

One Arkansas lottery player recently landed a big win playing a $5 instant game.

Mississippi County resident Bonnie W. won $100,000 playing 50X and claimed her prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on Aug. 12.

The winning ticket was sold at Kroger 465 Fuel, 400 W. Moultrie in Blytheville.

Bonnie, who plays lottery games a couple of times each month, bought the winning ticket during a routine trip to the grocery store. With no preference for a particular scratch-off game, she selected 50X from the store’s ticket vending machine.

“I just pushed a random button,” Bonnie told lottery officials. “I didn’t realize it would have such a big prize. I’m still shocked!”

Bonnie scratched off the winning ticket inside the grocery store, almost immediately discovering a $50,000 prize on the first row. She continued to scratch the rest of her ticket, and her shock only grew—there was another $50,000 prize on the second row, bringing her total winnings to $100,000.

“Oh my gosh,” she gasped.

The lucky winner first shared the good news with her husband, who needed some convincing before he believed that she landed the top prize. Then, she called her best friend.

“Hey, what are you doing today?” Bonnie asked. Upon hearing her friend’s answer, she said, “No, you have to come with me to Little Rock—I just won!”

Bonnie plans to save her winnings.

One $100,000 top prize remains on the 50X instant game.
