Lonoke County Man Claims $100,000 Powerball Prize; Arkansas Lottery Players Win Big with Scratch-Offs
This week, several lucky Arkansans landed prizes playing both draw games and scratch-off tickets.
Cassius K. from Lonoke County won $100,000 with a Powerball® ticket sold for the Nov. 10 drawing. He claimed his prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on Nov. 12.
The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased at the Exxon located at 1504 Highway 161 in North Little Rock The winning numbers were 6, 28, 44, 48, 58 and 23, and the Power Play® multiplier was 2.
Cassius bought the winning ticket while running errands. An occasional lottery player, he had not originally planned to buy the Powerball ticket, but his wife encouraged him to give the draw game a chance.
“I wanted to keep her happy and grab a ticket,” he told lottery officials.
Cassius checked his numbers the following morning and was shocked: he had matched four out of five winning numbers, plus the Powerball number, to win a $50,000 prize. Because he purchased the ticket with Power Play for an additional $1, his winnings doubled to $100,000.
He told lottery officials it was his first time winning a lottery prize. Cassius has yet to decide what he will do with his winnings, but he does plan to keep playing lottery games.
“At least, I know to go when my wife tells me to go,” he chuckled.
The jackpot for tonight’s Powerball drawing is $512 million.
This week’s lucky lottery streak continued for two other Arkansas players.
Robert A. from Pulaski County won $250,000 playing 100X the Cash, a $10 instant game. He purchased the winning ticket at JMT One Stop, located at 4800 Mac Arthur Dr. in North Little Rock. He claimed his prize on Nov. 12.
Robert was picking up his daughter when he decided to stop for gas. A daily lottery player, he usually plays a 200X the Cash ticket or “whatever else looks good that day.” He purchased a 100X the Cash and, to his shock, won a $250,000 top prize.
Robert is no stranger to winning, having previously landed $20,000 and $5,000 prizes. However, the $250,000 prize proved to be the most exciting.
“I had to pull over a few times to catch my breath,” he told lottery officials. Robert’s daughter and her mother were equally stunned when he shared the news.
The lucky winner plans to renovate his house with his prize. He will also continue playing lottery games.
One $250,000 top prize remains on 100X the Cash.
Another big winner, Jerricc J. from Little Rock, landed a $100,000 top prize on 50X the Cash. He purchased the $5 winning ticket at Big Hill Enterprises LLC, located at 719 E. 9th Street in Little Rock, and claimed his prize on Nov. 10.
Jerricc’s grandmother, a regular lottery player, purchased the winning ticket for Jerricc at his request. She prefers to buy tickets with multipliers or big top prizes, and 50X the Cash seemed like an ideal match. Jerricc scratched off the winning ticket at home, quickly discovering that it held a $100,000 prize.
“Is this for real?” Jerricc and his grandmother wondered.
They rushed back to the store to confirm the win. Stunned, Jerricc’s excitement only grew as he waited to claim his prize.
Jerricc has yet to make plans for his winnings.
“You have to think about it,” his grandmother noted.
One $100,000 top prize remains on 50X the Cash.
