Little Rock Woman Wins $200,000 on Instant Game; Powerball Jackpot Surges to $620 Million for Saturday Night

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.

Lula B., a Little Rock resident, recently won the $200,000 top prize on a $10 Arkansas Diamonds instant game. She claimed her prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on Dec. 21.

The winning ticket was sold at the University Shell, 3200 S. University in Little Rock.

Lula, who likes to play instant games daily for their frequent payouts, purchased the scratch-off ticket during a visit to the service station. The Arkansan scratched her ticket at home, revealing the winning $200,000 icon. Initially shocked, she ran back to the service station for the clerk to check her ticket.

“I just can’t believe it happened,” Lula said.

Having heard about recent wins in Maumelle and Green Forest, Lula hoped to see a winner from Little Rock. She did not anticipate, however, that she would have a winning ticket of her own.

“It’s about time,” she said, referring to her win and long-time history as a player.

The Little Rock resident is no stranger to winning, though. She has previously won $10, $20, $50 and $100 prizes through instant game tickets.

Lula first shared the good news with her daughter, who was just as excited about her win.

“Mama, stop playing,” Lula’s daughter said. She urged her mother to spend the prize on a cruise.

Having put her traveling days behind her, Lula first plans to pay bills with her winnings. She will also continue to play the lottery—namely Natural State Jackpot, LOTTO, instant games, and Powerball®.

For Saturday night’s drawings, the Powerball jackpot rises to $620 million, while the Arkansas-only LOTTO jackpot surges to $710,000. The Natural State Jackpot is $80,000 for tonight. The Mega Millions jackpot is $57 million for tonight.
