Little Rock Woman Claims $500,000 Lottery Prize

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.

Little Rock resident Lucille Robinson recently won $500,000 on the $20 200X instant game ticket. She claimed her prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center on Dec. 27.

The winning ticket was sold at the 12th Street Market at 4511 W 12th St. in Little Rock.

Lucille purchased the ticket on a whim while visiting the gas station with her son, Dewayne Johnson.

“She wanted to spend $20 today,” Dewayne shared with lottery officials.

Although she plays two to three times a week, Lucille does not have a favorite lottery game. Instead, she chooses her tickets based on their color and aesthetic appeal. For this round, she selected a single 200X instant game ticket; Dewayne made the final purchase.

Eager, Lucille scratched her ticket before she and her son left the gas station. Then, she passed the ticket along to Dewayne to confirm if she was a winner.

“Mama, you just won half a million dollars,” Dewayne said.

Excited, the woman said she immediately “thanked God” and shared the news with her granddaughter and another son. The quartet later made their way to the ASL Claim Center.

“We’re just always hoping for a blessing,” Lucille said of her win.

Lucille wants to be responsible with her prize, designating some for bills and other expenses and saving the rest for a rainy day. She would also like to improve her family’s lifestyle.
