Little Rock Man Wins $200,000 Playing Instant Game; $100,000 Powerball Ticket Sold on Jackpocket

Little ROCK, Ark.

Timothy S. of Little Rock won a $200,000 lottery prize playing the $10 777 instant game. He claimed his winnings at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center in Little Rock on Jan. 29.

The winning ticket was sold at Double Bees Exxon on 6920 Colonel Glen in Little Rock.

An avid lottery player, Timothy has played the same game every day for twenty years. However, his consistency went unrewarded until a recent trip to his local gas station. He purchased five different $10 instant games there, including the winning 777 instant game ticket.

The lottery player waited until he arrived home to scratch off his ticket, where he discovered he had won the $200,000 top prize.

Timothy ran to share the good news with his wife, who was in another room at the time.

“I went in there and kissed my wife and said, ‘We’re going downtown,’” Timothy shared with lottery officials.

“And it scared me!” his wife added, laughing. “I had no idea what was going on.”

Timothy also shared the news with his daughter, surprising her with a photo of the winning ticket via text when she missed his first call.

The Little Rock resident intends to pay off his home and vehicle with his winnings and then share the rest with his family. He will continue playing lottery games and hopes to land a $1 million prize soon.

“He went right back [to buy tickets] after he won,” his wife joked.

A Powerball® ticket worth $100,000 was sold on the Jackpocket mobile app for last night’s drawing. However, there was no jackpot winner, so the drawing for Wednesday night will be for an estimated $188 million.

The winning numbers were 39, 41, 43, 49 and 64, with the Powerball being 4. The multiplier was two. The player matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball number. However, they increased their $50,000 prize to $100,000 by including the Power Play® option for an additional $1 per play.

“We urge all players who played Powerball on Jackpocket to check their tickets,” said Eric Hagler, ASL executive director. “The winner has 180 days from Jan. 29 to claim their prize.”
