Last-Minute Change in Work Plans Results in $500,000 Lottery Win
One lucky Arkansas lottery player won a $500,000 prize during her regular commute to work.
B. Todd of Little Rock won $500,000 playing 200X the Cash, a $20 instant game. She claimed her prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on May 13.
The winning ticket was purchased at QuikTrip #7211, 1215 Otter Creek Road in Little Rock.
Todd bought the winning ticket as part of her regular pre-work routine. The Little Rock woman had originally taken the day off but decided to come in after a last-minute schedule change. Fortunately for her, this sudden change of plans landed her a top prize on her favorite game.
A daily lottery player, Todd always stops at the same retailer during her commute. True to her routine, the player visited the QuikTrip and purchased one 200X the Cash instant ticket. She scratched it off while still in the store and, to her astonishment, saw that she had won $500,000.
“Oh my gosh, oh my gosh!” Todd thought.
The Little Rock woman had long told her daughter that if she ever won a big lottery prize, she would share her winnings. Finally, the lucky day had arrived.
“Call me now,” she said, texting her daughter a photo of the winning ticket.
Todd shared the good news over the phone, and neither could contain their excitement.
“We just started screaming continuously,” Todd told lottery officials.
The pair later informed the lucky winner’s husband, who initially expected bad news. Of course, the $500,000 win was far better than anything he had anticipated, and he joined the celebration.
Todd plans to invest her winnings.
Three top prizes worth $500,000 each remain on the 200X the Cash instant game.
