Garland County Woman Wins Big with Instant Ticket

Little Rock, Ark.

For one lucky Arkansas lottery player, a quick break from work turned into her biggest lottery prize yet.

Katherine S. of Garland County won $50,000 playing $50,000 Frenzy, a $20 instant game. She claimed her prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on Oct. 3.

Katherine purchased the winning ticket at Good Spirits, located at 109 Calella Road in Hot Springs. A twice-weekly player, she enjoys buying scratch-off games and the occasional draw game ticket with her coworkers. Recently, Katherine was looking for relief from her job when the $50,000 Frenzy instant game caught her attention.

“Sometimes the tickets talk to you,” she told lottery officials. “And it was talking to me that day.”

Following her gut instinct, Katherine purchased the ticket. She scratched it off at work. To her astonishment, it revealed a top prize.

“This isn’t possible!” Katherine thought. Although she knew it was a real ticket, the lucky winner was hesitant to believe her luck.

So far, Katherine has only shared the good news with her parents and brother, who she says may be even more excited than she is. The $50,000 prize is the largest she has ever won, but Katherine says it still hasn’t quite sunk in.

With her prize, Katherine plans to save money and complete some home renovation projects.

Twenty-five top prizes, worth $50,000 each, remain on $50,000 Frenzy.
