A Full Day of Fun at Half-Price: Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Celebrates Students with Lottery Day at the State Fair

Little Rock, Ark.

The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) is celebrating Arkansas students this week with a special observance at the Arkansas State Fair. As part of ASL’s partnership with the Arkansas State Fair and the Arkansas Livestock Show Association, Lottery Day will offer current lottery scholarship recipients half-price gate admission on Friday, Oct. 16 when they present proof of their scholarship award from the Arkansas Division of Higher Education (ADHE).

“Our scholarship recipients are the reason why we do what we do,” said ASL Executive Director Sharon Strong. “These students work hard year-round to pursue their goals, and we are excited to celebrate their achievements with Lottery Day.”

Scholarship recipients must present proof of their scholarship at the admissions gates. In addition to the award email ADHE sent before the start of the fall semester, the scholarship is displayed in the recipient’s Scholarship Application Management System (SAMS) portal.

Three lottery-funded scholarship programs are eligible for half-price entry:

  • The Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship provides funding for Arkansas residents attending two-year or four-year in-state colleges and universities.
  • The Arkansas Workforce Challenge Scholarship offers financial aid for students pursuing training and certification in high-demand fields.
  • The ACCESS to Acceleration Scholarship supports students seeking to enroll in college courses while in high school.

Following fiscal year 2026, the lottery transferred $114.3 million to ADHE for scholarships, the second-largest transfer since the lottery’s founding in 2009. In total, ASL has raised more than $1.6 billion in proceeds, funding more than 873,000 scholarships.
