Faulkner County Woman Claims Natural State Jackpot; Arkansas Lottery Players Land Big Wins with Instant Games
An ordinary evening turned into an extraordinary lottery win for Saturday night’s Natural State Jackpot (NSJ) winner.
Faulkner County resident Connie M. won $130,000 in the March 21 NSJ drawing. She claimed her prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on March 23.
The winning numbers were 3, 7, 12, 16 and 20.
Connie ordered the winning ticket from the Jackpocket mobile app while working on her taxes. An occasional lottery player, she decided to give the Arkansas-exclusive draw game a chance, appreciating the convenience of ordering through the app.
Connie was at home when she received a notification from Jackpocket announcing that she had won a big prize. Shocked, she checked her email and realized she had matched all five numbers needed to win the $130,000 jackpot.
“No way!” Connie said.
The lucky winner first shared the good news with her coworker and her sister. She hopes to retire sometime next year and believes the jackpot will help her achieve her goal.
“That’s a big relief,” she said.
The jackpot for tonight’s NSJ drawing is $70,000.
Another winner, C. Foster of Pulaski County, won $100,000 playing the 50X the Cash instant game. The $5 winning ticket was purchased at Barrow Mart, 1400 John Barrow Road in Little Rock.
“Honestly, it was random,” Foster told lottery officials. She had stopped at the retailer for gas after work, and while inside, she decided to grab a ticket.
Foster scratched the ticket off in her car, discovering that it held a $100,000 top prize.
“I couldn’t believe it,” she said. “I had to check first!”
Foster told her mother and grandmother about the win, both of whom were equally shocked. She has considered buying a home with her prize.
Two $100,000 top prizes remain on 50X the Cash.
A third winner, Mississippi County resident Matthew M., won $50,000 playing Instant Million, a $20 instant game. He claimed his prize on March 24.
The winning ticket was purchased at Jordan’s Kwik Stop 53, located at 680 N. Highway 77 in Manila.
Matthew, a frequent lottery player, bought the ticket as part of his regular lottery routine. He mostly plays $10 and $20 games, and this time, he selected the scratch-off ticket that caught his eye.
“This ticket was just popping out to me,” Matthew told lottery officials. “I just try to go with my gut feeling.”
Matthew scratched off his ticket while visiting his mother, and lucky for him, his “gut feeling” led him to a $50,000 prize. He first shared the good news with his mother and his wife.
“It still hasn’t settled in yet,” Matthew said.
The lucky winner plans to buy his mom a nicer car with his winnings, as well as update the floors in his home.
One $50,000 prize and two $1 million top prizes remain on Instant Million.
