Drew County Woman Claims $200,000 Natural State Jackpot

Little Rock, Ark.

After a brief hiatus, one lucky Drew County resident returned to her usual lottery routine and landed a massive win.

S. Johnson won $200,000 in the July 22 Natural State Jackpot (NSJ) drawing. She claimed her prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on July 24.

The winning Quick Pick ticket was sold at Smoker Friendly #1124, located at 460 US Highway N. in Monticello. The winning numbers were 17, 23, 29, 35 and 39.

Johnson, usually a daily NSJ player, told lottery officials that she had “actually stopped playing for a while.” Still, in hopes of a big win, the Drew County woman decided to purchase a few tickets ahead of the July 22 drawing. Unbeknownst to her, one of those tickets would soon grant the player the exact prize she had been seeking.

Johnson discovered she had won the day after the drawing. At the retailer’s drive-through, she hurriedly signed three tickets for the clerk to scan and was surprised when the clerk began to celebrate.

“You’re going to Little Rock!” the clerk told Johnson, jumping and clapping in excitement.

The lucky winner was more than stunned.

“I almost passed out!” she told lottery officials.

Still, Johnson was unsure of how much she had won. She shared the good news with her husband, and together, the pair checked the winning numbers online. Sure enough, the Drew County woman’s ticket matched all five numbers—she had hit the $200,000 jackpot.

“You are the winner of the jackpot,” he told her proudly.

Johnson plans to donate and save some of her winnings.

The jackpot for tonight’s NSJ drawing is $80,000.

NSJ tickets are available at licensed Arkansas lottery retailers and through retailer apps from ASL’s Play on the Go partners. Visit the Where To Play page on the ASL website to learn more about the Play on the Go options.
