Benton County Man Wins $390,000 Playing Lucky for Life; Two Lottery Players Win Top Prizes on Instant Tickets

Little Rock, Ark.

Whether they play draw games or scratch-offs, lottery players in Arkansas continue to win big as the year comes to a close.

John H. won $390,000 in the Nov. 23 Lucky for Life® drawing and recently claimed his prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center. The winning numbers were 3, 4, 13, 28 and 41, and the Lucky Ball® number was 9.

“It was kind of on a whim,” John told lottery officials.

John ordered the winning ticket via the Jackpocket lottery app. An occasional player, he had about $20 left in the app from earlier this year, when he bought Powerball® tickets in hopes of landing the $1 billion jackpot. John rarely plays Lucky for Life, but he decided to try the draw game again.

The Benton County man discovered his win at work the next day after receiving a congratulatory email from Jackpocket.

“I just started laughing,” John said. “I thought it was a joke.”

John surprised his wife with the news when he got home from work. He has yet to make plans for his winnings, but he has considered being “more generous” with some of his holiday gifts.

“I’m just excited,” he said. “I’m still kind of processing it.”

Lucky for Life drawings are held daily at 9:30 p.m. Ticket sales end at 8:30 p.m.

Another player, Amy H. from Morgan County, AL, won $75,000 playing Bingo X20, a $3 instant game. She claimed her prize on Dec. 1.

Amy purchased her winning ticket at Jordan’s Kwik Stop 8, located at 7974 Highway 49 in Waldenburg, after a duck hunting trip. She bought seven X20 Bingo Tickets, one of her favorite games, and returned to her duck camp to scratch them off.

To Amy’s shock, the very last ticket held a $75,000 prize. She drove back to the retailer in disbelief and scanned the ticket to confirm her win.

“This is not really happening,” she thought.

Her son was equally stunned when she shared the news.

“Are you kidding me?” he asked.

Amy plans to invest her winnings in savings for her grandchild.

Two $75,000 top prizes remain on Bingo X20.

A third winner, Mayflower resident Monthelyn Smoot, won $50,000 playing $50,000 Frenzy. She purchased the $20 winning ticket at Bates Field & Stream, located at 4 Lake Forest Drive in Mayflower.

A regular lottery player, Smoot hit her big win on her third attempt that day. She won $10 with her first ticket and nothing with the second. The third held a $50,000 top prize, far more than the $1,000 prize she initially expected.

The $50,000 prize also marks Smoot’s largest to date.

The lucky winner first told her husband, daughter and grandkids, all of whom celebrated her win. She plans to use her winnings to buy a car.

Fifteen $50,000 top prizes remain on $50,000 Frenzy.
