Lottery luck is in the air as the LOTTO jackpot climbs ahead of the Sept. 16 drawing.

Tonight, the LOTTO jackpot is $2.553 million.

Launched in 2022, LOTTO is designed to give in-state lottery players more chances to win bigger prizes. Seventeen winning tickets worth $500 or more were sold for the Sept. 12 drawing, including five tickets worth $1,500 each. More than 3,000 winning tickets were sold for last Saturday’s draw.

LOTTO drawings are held at 9 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Six numbers between 1 and 40 are drawn, plus a Bonus Number. To win the jackpot, a LOTTO player must match the first six numbers drawn in any order. Players can also win up to $25,000 for matching three or more winning numbers, with or without the Bonus Number.

LOTTO tickets cost $2 per play, and ticket sales cut off at 8:59 p.m. on the night of the drawing.
