Retailer Spotlight - PDQ Valley Park
The team at PDQ Valley Park in Russellville could set their watches by their most regular lottery players. According to Store Manager Princess Wheeler, their loyalty encourages the team to make sure players can enjoy their favorite games without a hitch.
“A lot of players come here specifically for the lottery, and we want to make everyone feel important when they come in,” Wheeler said.
Staying attuned to players’ needs, the PDQ team members restock lottery bins every morning, sometimes even double-stacking the most popular $10 and $20 tickets. They also aim to pay out every player who comes to claim their winnings, regardless of where the ticket was purchased, and they take care to explain lottery games to curious first-time players.
“When they ask us for help, we’ll say, ‘Okay, let’s look at it together,’” Wheeler said.
The team’s customer-centered approach to lottery sales has fostered a sense of community at PDQ Valley Park. Wheeler, who has worked at the retailer for more than 20 years, builds relationships with each customer who stops by.
“This is my home,” she said.
Wheeler shares in players’ joy when they win prizes, as well as their excitement for new ticket launches. Hoping to both help customers and increase sales, she is always ready to ask, “What else can I get for you?”
The efforts of Wheeler and her team do not go unnoticed. Long-time players and newcomers alike know they can depend on PDQ Valley Park for top-notch customer service and a positive lottery experience.
