Lottery Players Claim $150,000, $100,000 and $50,000 Powerball Prizes in Arkansas

Little Rock, Ark.

Three lucky lottery players started the new year with big prizes from the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL).

“In addition to the $1.817 billion jackpot, we want to celebrate a few more winning tickets sold in Arkansas recently,” said ASL Executive Director Sharon Strong. “With all the excitement surrounding Powerball, we’re reminded of how our work can support the average Arkansan, whether that be through lottery-funded scholarships or big wins like these.”

Jefferson County resident Freddie H. won $150,000 in the Dec. 20 Powerball® drawing and claimed his prize at the ASL Claim Center on Dec. 30.

The winning numbers were 4, 5, 28, 52 and 69. The Powerball number was 20, and the Power Play® multiplier was 3.

Freddie purchased the winning Quick Pick ticket at 3701 Camden Fuel Mart, 3701 S. Camden Road, in Pine Bluff. A regular lottery player, he prefers games such as Mega Millions® and Powerball that offer large payouts.

“I like the big fish,” Freddie told lottery officials.

Freddie purchased the Powerball ticket, hoping to land the then-$1.4 billion jackpot. He was relaxing at home, watching TV, when he decided to check his numbers. To his shock, Freddie matched four out of five winning numbers plus the Powerball, winning a $50,000 prize. Because he purchased his ticket with the Power Play multiplier for an additional $1, his winnings tripled to $150,000.

The lucky winner first shared the good news with his two daughters, who were excited for him.

A retired veteran, Freddie plans to travel with his daughters and enjoy his winnings. He also intends to continue playing lottery games.

Another winner, Charles C. from McDonald County, MO, bought a winning ticket worth $100,000 for the Dec. 24 Powerball drawing at Walmart #5837 Fuel Station, 5000 W. Pauline Whitaker, in Rogers. He claimed his prize on Dec. 31.

The winning numbers were 4, 25, 31, 52 and 59. The Powerball number was 19, and the Power Play® multiplier was 2.

Charles and his wife were working in Rogers when he purchased the winning Powerball ticket. Like other players, he wanted to try his luck with the draw game as its jackpot grew to exciting heights.

He matched four out of five winning numbers and the Powerball number to land a $50,000 prize. With Power Play, his prize doubled to $100,000.

The lucky winner checked his ticket two or three times before rushing to show it to his wife.

“How would you like this for Christmas?” he asked, handing her the winning ticket.

“Is this for real?” she asked.

The couple has yet to solidify their plans for the win, but they hope the prize will jump-start some of their long-anticipated projects.

“This will open doors,” they shared.

A third winner, M. Nichols from Little Rock, also won $50,000 in the Dec. 24 Powerball drawing. He purchased the winning ticket at Cantrell Mart Inc., 16900 Cantrell Road in Little Rock, and claimed his prize on Dec. 29.

Nichols was at home when he discovered the win.

“I thought it must be a mistake,” he told lottery officials.

He first told his wife about the $50,000 prize and plans to buy gifts for his family with his winnings.

Arkansas’ biggest Powerball prize yet, the $1.817 billion jackpot, remains unclaimed. The winning ticket was sold in Cabot for the Dec. 24 drawing, and the player has 180 days from this date to claim their prize.

For other players looking to win big, Saturday night’s Powerball jackpot is $124 million.

Powerball tickets are available at licensed Arkansas lottery retailers and through retailer apps from ASL’s Play on the Go partners. For more information about Play on the Go options, visit the Where To Play page on the ASL website.
