Two Hot Springs Players Hit $240,000 Natural State Jackpot

Little Rock, Ark.

Two lucky Hot Springs residents landed the $240,000 jackpot in the Nov. 29 Natural State Jackpot (NSJ) drawing, taking home $120,000 each.

The winning numbers were 30, 31, 32, 33 and 34.

Don B. claimed his $120,000 prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center last week. He purchased his winning ticket at Grace Convenience Store, located at 468 W. Grand Ave. in Hot Springs.

A committed NSJ player, Don had a personal strategy for winning big.

“I always play Quick Picks,” he told lottery officials. “Quick Pick pays off.”

Rather than choosing his own numbers, Don prefers to allow the terminal to generate the winning numbers through Quick Picks. Fortunately for him, this strategy landed him half of that night’s $240,000 jackpot, as well as his biggest win yet. Excited, he first sent a photo of the winning ticket to his brother.

Don plans to continue playing lottery games.

The second winner, Dawn Wright, also claimed her $120,000 prize last week. She ordered the winning ticket through the Jackpocket lottery app for convenience.

Dawn, a frequent lottery player, prefers NSJ for its $1 price point. She also believes she has better odds of winning since it is an Arkansas-exclusive draw game. Having won $300 on NSJ in the past, Dawn reused those winning numbers for the Nov. 29 drawing.

Dawn discovered her big win the same night.

“I checked the lottery’s website and saw someone had won and noticed the winning numbers,” Dawn told lottery officials.

Quickly, Dawn checked her email and found a notification from Jackpocket confirming her win.

“I feel truly blessed,” she said.

The lucky winner first shared the good news with her husband, Russell, who was shocked to learn about the win. The couple is considering a summer vacation with the prize.

The jackpot for tonight’s NSJ drawing is $95,000.

NSJ tickets are available for purchase at licensed Arkansas lottery retailers and through retailer apps from ASL’s Play on the Go partners. For more information about the Play on the Go options, visit the Where To Play page on the ASL website.
