June Wraps with Big Wins for Arkansans; Unclaimed Winning Natural State Jackpot Ticket Worth $90,000 Sold in Van Buren

Little Rock, Ark.

The last days of June brought big lottery wins to three Arkansas scratch-off players, and a winning ticket sold for Tuesday night’s Natural State Jackpot (NSJ) drawing still remains unclaimed.

Hot Springs resident Edward Gunter won $200,000 playing Psychedelic Payout, a recently launched $10 instant game. He claimed his prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on June 30.

The winning ticket was sold at Lake Hamilton Superstop, located at 2070 Airport Road in Hot Springs.

“You really won’t believe this,” Edward began, recounting his winning experience to lottery officials.

The Hot Springs man had stopped at his favorite retailer to buy his usual AR Progressive tickets when he noticed Psychedelic Payout for the first time. Always drawn to the newest games, Edward decided to try his luck with the multi-colored scratch-off. He did not realize it had a top prize of $200,000.

Edward was at home, on the phone with his father, when he realized he had won.

“I’m not going to tell you everything I said,” he laughed. “But I was very excited!”

His father was equally as shocked, demanding that the lucky winner send a photo of the ticket as proof. Edward, however, was most eager to share the good news with his wife.

“Honey, I’ve got something to tell you about life,” the Hot Springs man said, waking her up. “It’s about to change.”

Edward’s biggest prize was $1,000 from earlier this year, but he told lottery officials, “That doesn’t hold a candle to this one!”

Psychedelic Payout still has two top prizes of $200,000 each.

Another winner, Jennifer O. of Washington County, won $50,000 playing $50,000 Frenzy, a $20 scratch-off game. She purchased the winning ticket at Crystal Hill Food Mart, located at 6116 Crystal Hill Road in North Little Rock, and claimed her prize on June 30.

“I was just running errands,” Jennifer told lottery officials. “I wasn’t thinking anything about it.”

The Washington County woman had selected the $20 ticket “for no particular reason” but was still overjoyed to land a $50,000 top prize.

A third winner, Little Rock resident Greg J., also won $50,000 playing $50,000 Frenzy. Greg’s wife bought the winning ticket at Divine, 13901 Chenal Parkway in Little Rock, and gave it to him as a gift. He claimed his prize on June 27.

The Little Rock man was in his kitchen when he scratched off his ticket and realized he’d won a $50,000 top prize.

“I thought, ‘No, that’s not right. Something’s wrong,’” Greg said.

However, Greg had indeed won the massive prize, and he looks forward to investing his winnings.

Forty top prizes worth $50,000 each remain on $50,000 Frenzy.

A winning NSJ ticket worth $90,000 was sold for the July 1 drawing. The ticket was purchased at Flash Market #7182, located at 1903 Fayetteville Road in Van Buren, and is currently unclaimed. The winner has 180 days from the draw date to claim their prize.
