Pulaski County Man Wins $75,000 Playing $3 Instant Game; Lepanto Woman Claims $50,000 Lottery Prize
Luck and a bit of intuition led two Arkansas lottery players to big wins.
Pulaski County resident C. Childs won $75,000 playing 10X® Cashword, a $3 instant game he purchased at Murphy USA 7102, 23800 Chenal Parkway in Little Rock. He claimed his prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on June 2.
Childs bought his winning ticket while running errands. He had stopped for gas, and a spur-of-the-moment decision led him inside the convenience store for the $3 ticket. Only an occasional lottery player, the Pulaski County man has no favorite game.
“I play whatever I feel,” Childs told lottery officials. “Whatever moves me!”
Lucky for Childs, his intuition led him to a $75,000 top prize on the crossword-inspired scratch-off ticket.
“I was excited for sure,” he said.
So far, the lucky winner has only shared the good news with his wife. He plans to save his winnings.
One top prize worth $75,000 remains on 10X Cashword.
Another winner, Rhonda H. of Lepanto, won $50,000 playing $50,000 Frenzy, a $20 instant game. She claimed her prize on May 30.
The winning ticket was sold at Jordan’s Kwik Stop 39, 101 West Broad St. in Lepanto.
Rhonda was on her way home from visiting her grandkids when she bought the winning ticket. She had made it to a four-way stop when a nearby convenience store caught her eye.
“Let me run in here,” Rhonda thought.
The Lepanto woman purchased two of her usual scratch-off games, one of which was a promising $50,000 Frenzy ticket. Although the first was a “dud,” the second left her stunned: she had landed a $50,000 top prize.
“My eyes just got real big,” Rhonda told lottery officials. “I had to turn on my overhead light to make sure I was seeing things correctly.”
The lucky winner knew she had to share the good news with her children. She immediately called her daughter and drove back to her son’s home, walking in with the winning ticket in-hand.
“They were both so excited for me,” Rhonda said.
The Lepanto resident plans to renovate her house and go on vacation with her winnings.
Forty-eight top prizes worth $50,000 each remain on the $50,000 Frenzy instant game.
